Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 January 2026

Sensor Globe (“Sensor Globe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your

personal data. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the

rights you have. It applies to our website (sensorglobe.no), our products and platform, and any related

communications.

Information we collect

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Marin X Inc., 301-168 Hobson Lake Drive, Beechville, Nova Scotia, Canada B3S 0G4 — the parent company of the Sensor Globe group. Marin X Inc. determines why and how your personal data is processed. We may update this policy and will revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.

Our Norwegian entity, Sensor Globe Norway AS (reg. no. 925853968, Thormøhlens Gate 51, 5006 Bergen, Norway), processes personal data on Marin X’s behalf and serves as our point of contact for users in the EEA and Norway.

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at team@sensorglobe.no. Our Data Protection Officer is Aleksandr Stabenow, Chief Technology Officer.

This policy covers personal data we process when you visit our website; contact us, request a demo, or receive a sample report; or use the Sensor Globe platform, dashboard, or hardware. It does not cover the operational and sensor measurements generated by our hardware, which generally do not identify individuals.

Website visitors: contact details from forms (name, company, email, message) and technical/usage data (IP address, device, pages viewed, cookies). Our website is hosted on Wix.

Platform users: account and identity data, usage data, and support communications. We do not intentionally collect special categories of data.

Under GDPR each purpose relies on a legal basis; under PIPEDA we rely on your consent and/or legitimate business purposes.

  • We respond to enquiries, demo requests, and sample-report requests on the basis of our legitimate interests and to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

  • We provide, operate, and support the platform and hardware in order to perform our contract with you.

  • We manage accounts and maintain security and authentication on the basis of our contract with you and our legitimate interests.

  • We improve our products, website, and analytics on the basis of our legitimate interests.

  • We send service updates and, where permitted, marketing on the basis of your consent and/or our legitimate interests.

  • We meet our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in order to comply with applicable law.

  • Where we rely on consent (for example, for certain marketing or non-essential cookies), you may withdraw it at any time.

Our website and platform are intended for business users and are not directed at children.

We share personal data only as needed and with appropriate safeguards: with service providers and sub-processors (hosting, cloud infrastructure, email and analytics; a current list is available on request), professional advisors, authorities where required by law, and successors in a corporate transaction. We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses essential cookies for functionality and non-essential cookies only where permitted by your settings or consent. You can manage cookies through your browser and our cookie banner.

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, and delete or anonymize it when no longer needed.

Data sharing, security and third parties

Your data may be transferred between Norway/EEA and Canada. Canada is recognized by the European Commission as adequate for commercial-sector data; for other countries we use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — access controls, encryption in transit, restricted internal access — and review them regularly.

Subject to applicable law you may access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent. Contact team@sensorglobe.no. You may also complain to Datatilsynet (Norway) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
